Announced today, Aeroserve Technologies is to be honored at the upcoming National Space Symposium with a commendation from the Space Foundation for work in improving vehicle aerodynamics. Working with vortex generators originally developed by Gary Wheeler and tested extensively by NASA for flow control, Aeroserve refined and commercialized the technology resulting in their Airtab product range. Airtabs are small, lightweight very low drag vortex generators that help to bridge the gap between tractor and trailer and also smooth the airflow at the back of any bluff-bodied vehicle. Savings in fuel average 3% in extensive real world applications. They are lightweight and easily installed. They will benefit nearly any vehicle driving at more than 40 mph. Improvements in handling and reduction in spray behind the vehicle have been important side effects of improved airflow. Aeroserve Technologies is pleased to be honored by the Space Foundation and looks forward to the ceremony on April 2nd in Colorado Springs. This ceremony is part of the 25th Annual Space Symposium, held at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. This commendation is part of the induction of the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center Aerodynamic Vehicle Design Program team into the Space Technology Hall of Fame. The Space Technology Hall of Fame was created in 1988 by the Space Foundation, in cooperation with NASA, to increase public awareness of the benefits resulting from space exploration programs and to encourage further innovation. To date, the Space Foundation has inducted 59 technologies as well as honoring the organizations and individuals who transformed space technology into commercial products that improve the quality of life for all humanity. Airtabs are marketed in North America by Airtab LLC of Loveland Colorado and globally by Worldcrest Management Inc. of Ottawa Canada.
